
Build strength, clarity, and alignment through Asana yoga and Biomechanics for lifelong postural wellbeing.
In this 2-day workshop, we get introduced to basics of Yoga poses called Asanas, and Biomechanics (science of movement). Yoga asanas can be broken down to fundamental movements which can be refined and corrected according to the individuals, so that asanas can be performed better to yield maximum benefits.
In these 2 days we get to learn a set of 8 poses which can be sequenced in a certain way. Why 8? There are more than 600 but limiting to 8 fundamental poses forms a base which we can rely on. The 8 will encompass almost all the movements of the major joints in the body, like flexion, extension, abduction, adduction and so on.
1. Urdhvasana – Upward extension
2. Vrikshasana – Tree pose
3. Veerabadrasana 1 – warrior 1
4. Veerabadrasana 2 – warrior 2
5. Utkatasana variations – half squat variations
6. Navasana – Naval pose
7. Naukasana – Boat pose
8. Chatuspaadasana – Bridge pose
The above 8 will be split into 2 days. By the end, all participants will feel confident of these poses and a easy self practice routine will be set. Also, during sessions, we shall be covering important breathing techniques.
